1948 locally used Hankow commercial cover with used China block of 4 ovpt. $20000 CNC Yuan on 50 Cents used during the Gold Yuan transitional period, cancelled by Hankow Chinese date cds. 37.9.10. Special handling card and delivery advice still attached. Interesting Chinese language cachet on cover relates to the conversion of CNC Yuan to Gold Yuan with effect from 20th August 1948 (Yr. 37.8.20) at a rate of 3 million to 1. In exceptionally fine condition.

Hong Kong, 1971 first issue of decimal Half Penny as a single franking on cover four days after decimal currency was introduced in the United Kingdom. British forces use, providing the only possible and legitimate use of this value alone on cover for the carriage of mail and therefore quite rare. Posted in Hong Kong 18 February 71 for local delivery to the British FPO at HMS Tamar. The HongKong P.O. did not cancel the stamp, instead placing a handstruck "HONGKONG 34" cds alongside. The receiving office cds. "Field Post Office 1038 A 19 FE 71" cancel the stamp, very fine.

Then a wide range of George VI to Elizabeth II errors on piece fine used (identified) to $10 and in blocks unmounted mint. Annigoni definitive vals. to $10 unmounted mint inc. better items such as a pair of the August 1971 $10. Annigoni series plate block and other blocks and singles with varieties of wmk. and printing. Range of fiscals, stamp duty and contract note stamps mostly used. Inspection will reward the patient specialist. Some minor tones do not detract from the mint stamps. (403)
