Circa 1940s: Third Reich, hard-back membership book with embossed Swastika emblem in cog-wheel for "Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront" (German Labour Front), that belonged to Gertrud Heid of Munich, born 24 May 1910. The DAF was a labour organisation that replaced traditional trade unions and was associated with the NSDAP Nazi party in Germany. Contains revenue stamps of values RM1.40 to RM3.40 from October 1936 until September 1944, with manuscript entries thereafter 31 March 1945. Fine and interesting item, accompanied by partially used clothing ration card issued in 1942 to Elisabeth Hartl in Munich. (2)

Circa 1940s: Third Reich, letter dated 29 April 1943 from "Fuhrer-Hauptquartier" bearing the original signature of Adolf Hitler on official "Riechsadler" embossed stationery of "Der Fuhrer und Reichskanzier", to a citizen of Zimdorf in Bavaria sending congratulations for a diamond wedding celebration. A4 size letter sheet folded horizontally and vertically. Very clean and fresh, extremely fine. Of historical note, on Thursday 29 April 1943, Adolf Hitler is recorded as having been to Berlin where he met with Pierre Laval, Prime Minister of Vichy, France.
